26.05.2010, Peilstein - The U21 European Championship will be held in Peilstein near Rohrbach at the beginning of July. Whitsun saw the official opening of the new sports ground there. The Peilstein fistball kids were joined by the entire Austrian 2011 Fistball WCH squad who not only trained with them but also showed their abilities in an exhibition match.

As part of the short Whitsun training camp 22 members of the Austrian WCH team for 2011 made their way to Peilstein in the Mühlviertel region on Saturday afternoon. Following the welcoming address and a game between the Austrian U21 team and a selection of Peilstein players, the young fistballers of the home team were treated to a showcase training session with the men's team. The fistballers of tomorrow picked up picked up some useful tips and tricks from Dietmar Weiss & co.

Team coach Winfried Kronsteiner then formed two teams who played a couple of sets in front of the roughly 150 spectators. "The focus of the short training camp at Whitsun was on short internal test matches anyway, so the change of scenery was ideal," says the Steyr-based 39-year-old. The OC Team of the 2011 Fistball WCH attracted tremendous interest with another fan merchandise stand where it presented the "2011 Fistball WCH Flag" for the first time. The team stayed on for another 30 minutes after the match to give autographs and take time for the fans.

The training session continued on Whit Monday at the Austrian Fistball Association's High Performance Centre which is located at the Linz ASKÖ Bewegungscenter. Kronsteiner will name his 11-man squad for the training camp in Faak am See, Carinthia, after the Austrian Bundesliga finals in Grieskirchen at the end of June. The European Championship will be held at the end of August in Ermatingen, Switzerland.
